Definition
a type of aspect that indicates the success or failure in carrying out the complement - event. Achievement is often, but not always, expressed by a complement-taking predicate in a complement clause construction. Example: in She managed to solve the riddle, managed expresses achievement – namely, the successful execution of the complement event of solving the riddle. (Section 18.2.2)
