Definition
in a complement clause construction, this is the semantic property that the meaning of the complement-taking predicate requires that one or more participants of the complement - event is shared with the event denoted by the complement-taking predicate. Example: in I told Fred to bring me a screwdriver, the agent of the complement bringing event is necessarily also the causee of the manipulative event of telling. (Section 18.2.2)
