Definition

a monovalent event involving motion of a participant from one place to another (translational motion); and the verb expressing that event. Examples: fly and go express motion events. Motion events contrast with bodily motion events: motion events involve movement from one location to another, whereas bodily motion events involve internal motion of a body part. Motion events may express path of motion or manner of motion, or both. Motion events may be divided into departure, passing, and arrival phases of the path of motion. (Sections 7.2, 7.3.1, 14.4)
