Comparative Concept: disjunctive coordination (cxn)

Definition

a type of coordinate construction typically equated with coordination by 'or', representing alternatives in the relevant context. Example: I will take the bus or ride my bicycle is an instance of disjunctive coordination of clauses; an apple or an orange in I'll have an apple or an orange is an instance of disjunctive coordination of referring phrases. Disjunctive coordination can be divided into inclusive disjunction and exclusive disjunction. (Section 15.2.1)
