Definition
a type of contrast that involves two propositions that exhibit some sort of parallelism in their structure, and there is a difference in semantic components in parallel positions that is construed as a salient contrast. Three subtypes of parallel contrast are listing contrast, verbal contrast, and nonverbal contrast. (Section 11.4.1)
